New Austin Board of Realtors report supports smaller homes on smaller lots

Realtors in Austin are supporting a plan to create affordable housing by subdividing existing properties. The plan, called the HOME Plan, would allow smaller homes on smaller lots, potentially reducing the cost of homeownership by 24%. Critics are concerned about potential price increases and flipping of the new homes. District 4 Council Member Vela mentioned that limits on the size of the houses would serve as safeguards.
