The Lifecycle of the Monarch Butterfly

Elk Rapids neighbors, mark your calendars for October 27, 2026, and join the community at First Presbyterian Church for “The Lifecycle of the Monarch Butterfly.” This special local event offers an engaging look at one of nature’s most fascinating transformations. Naturalist, photographer and filmmaker Charles St. Charles will present photos and film exploring monarch metamorphosis, migration and habitat conservation. From egg to caterpillar, chrysalis to butterfly, the program brings the monarch’s journey to life through compelling visuals and firsthand storytelling. The evening is also an opportunity to learn why habitat conservation matters and how everyday choices can help support monarch populations. Whether you enjoy photography, filmmaking, gardening or simply the beauty of northern Michigan’s natural surroundings, there is something meaningful to take away.
