Building More Homes Faster

The City is enhancing housing development by allowing more diverse housing types, including "missing middle" options like multiplexes. A proposal to increase multiplex units in north Scarborough is set for City Council consideration. Significant investments are being made in rental properties, with a focus on affordable housing. The Housing Accelerator Fund aims to create nearly 61,000 new housing units by 2026, with streamlined approval processes and funding for supportive housing initiatives. The City is collaborating with various organizations to address the housing crisis effectively.
