Saskatchewan building permit growth ranks first among provinces

Saskatchewan's building permits grew 101.6% from May to June 2026, leading the country, and increased 90.3% year-over-year, ranking second nationally. This growth signals more construction, jobs, and private-sector investment. The province's 2025 real GDP hit a record $85.4 billion, rising 2.2%, above the national average. Private capital investment rose 12% to $13.6 billion, the highest among provinces.
