Dedication of the Cpl. Harlon Block Iwo Jima Memorial

Weslaco will come together on October 24, 2026, for the dedication of the Cpl. Harlon Block Iwo Jima Memorial at Harlon Block Sports Complex. This city ceremony honors Cpl. Harlon Block, a Weslaco hero whose courage and sacrifice remain an important part of our community’s history. The dedication offers residents an opportunity to pause, remember, and reflect on the meaning of service. By gathering at this memorial, neighbors can honor the bravery that shaped Cpl. Block’s legacy and recognize the enduring impact of his example. As a local real estate professional, I value the people, stories, and traditions that make Weslaco feel like home. Community events like this bring generations together and remind us that a strong hometown is built not only through places, but also through shared memories and respect.
