Homebuyers Seek Out Affordable Sun Belt Cities

The share of homebuyers moving to new metros has risen, driven by the search for more affordable housing. Most are relocating to Sun Belt cities, with nine of the top ten destinations in Florida and Las Vegas leading. Expensive coastal cities like Los Angeles, New York, and Seattle are losing buyers. About 18.7% of buyers are moving between cities, the highest rate since 2021.
