ALABAMA ARCHAEOLOGY DAY AT THE MUSEUM

Looking for a meaningful local activity in Mobile? Alabama Archaeology Day at the Museum invites families, students, and history lovers to explore the past through engaging, hands-on experiences. The free event takes place Saturday, October 17, 2026, at the University of South Alabama’s Archaeology Museum. Guests can try archaeology activities, experience atlatl throwing, watch living-history demonstrations, and take part in laboratory activities. With opportunities to learn by doing, the event offers an approachable way to discover how archaeologists study the people, tools, and stories that shaped Alabama. As a local real estate professional, I love highlighting community events that help neighbors connect with Mobile and appreciate the character of our area. Events like this create memorable experiences for families while showcasing the rich history found close to home. Mark your calendar and invite someone to join you. Admission is free, and more event details are available at https://www.mobilecountyal.gov/community_events/events/alabama-archaeology-day-at-the-museum-2026-10-17.
